KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A trailer filled with meals for veterans that was stolen on Veterans Day was recovered Friday in Kansas City, Kansas.

According to a post from the organization that owns the trailer, Friends in Service of Heroes (F.I.S.H.), KCK police found the trailer in good shape.

Half of the food was taken from the trailer, but members of the group are hopeful they can still take the remaining donations to veterans on schedule.

A total of 12,100 meals were supposed to be distributed to veterans at the Kansas City VA Medical Center on Nov. 21.

F.I.S.H. is a nonprofit dedicated to helping troops, veterans and their families by providing them with ADA-certified service dogs, track chairs, motorized wheelchairs and food.
