More break-ins were reported Wednesday after a string of burglaries in Johnson County the week before.

Each time, the burglar broke into apartments using a pry bar.

Most of the time, it happened in the middle of the day.

That's what happened to Tom's Overland Park Apartment.

“They said that the door was pried open and that they had new keys for me because they changed the lock.”

The week prior, someone broke into an apartment a half a mile away but the residents were home.

The day before that, five apartments were pried open in Lenexa. One person lost $2,000 worth of items.

A burglar took off with Tom’s TV.

“I was a bit relieved that it was just the TV but I thought it was odd they didn't take anything else.”

He added, “It's very frustrating, you think to yourself why don't they just go out and get a job?”

Police recommend using extra locks like a bar in a sliding glass door.

Also, they say to report any suspicious activity.
