KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A college student from Kansas City was killed after he jumped from a rooftop in Texas and was electrocuted, according to police and his school.

Jedidiah Brookbank, who attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas, was jumping rooftops for fun Sunday night when he made contact with “high voltage wires,” police said, according to a report from KXAS-TV in Fort Worth.

Police said Brookbank, 20, was found on the roof of a business, where he had been electrocuted, according to the report.

In a Facebook post, Southwestern Assemblies of God University said that Brookbank was a business management major who had just finished his junior year. The school said he had come to the university from Kansas City.

“Many fellow students and faculty have already expressed personal sentiments about how sweet of a young man Jed was,” the post read. “Our hearts break for family and friends who are hurting and we ask that you join us in praying for God’s peace to comfort them.”
