KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A vehicle with five suspects led officers on a chase across the state line twice before crashing into another vehicle and an ATA bus causing serious injuries.

Shortly after 5:00 p.m. Saturday KCK officers started chasing a grey Chevy HHR. They suspected the people inside were involved in an aggravated assault on a law-enforcement officer that happened near North 24th Street and Parallel Parkway.

The chase continued along I-670 eastbound into Kansas City, Missouri, then back across the state line into Mission, Kansas, before eventually ending more than 12 miles away near 63rd Street and Brookside Boulevard.

The Chevy was southbound on Brookside, with KCK police behind them. Police say the car struck a white Acura RDX, knocking it into an ATA bus.

Four suspects in the HHR fled on foot, and were caught by Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri officers.

The driver suffered serious injures in the crash and was taken to an area hospital.

The passenger of the Acura suffered possible life-threatening injuries, the driver suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the ATA bus and the only passenger onboard refused medial treatment.
