UPDATE 9:15 p.m. | MSHP said that the man was taken into custody "without incident" and the children at the residence were not harmed.
An investigation will take place regarding the shooting involving the Sedalia officer, according to MSHP.
ORIGINAL STORY | Missouri State Highway Patrol SWAT officers are assisting Sedalia police with an armed, barricaded subject.
MSHP said in a tweet that Sedalia officers “attempted to make entry, however the subject fired several rounds towards the officers.” A Sedalia officer suffered minor injuries.
Four juveniles are inside the residence, according to MSHP.
A highway patrol spokesperson told 41 Action News that MSHP was notified around 2:45 p.m. on Sunday that Sedalia officers had requested a SWAT team.
SWAT has been on scene since about 4 p.m., according to MSHP.
Drug and Crime control also is on scene to assist. Officers were still on scene as of 8 p.m.
