Swimsuits, towels needed for summer kids camp

City Union Mission is asking for help to make summer break even better for more than 125 inner city kids.

The Mission's Family Shelter is gearing up for its annual City Camp, a free nine-week program for kids ages 6 - 18 years old. It starts June 7, and throughout the summer kids will go on field trips, including the Platte City YMCA.

The Mission needs donations of new or gently used swimsuits, 200 beach towels and other swim items.

Many of the campers don't have swim gear, because it's something their parents often can't afford.

Donations can be delivered to the Mission's administration office at 1100 E. 11th Street in KCMO, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Mission is also accepting markers and washable paints for arts and crafts activities.

Camp runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and includes lunch and snacks. To find out more and how to get a child enrolled -- CLICK HERE.
