KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 16-year-old boy from Ozawkie, Kansas, died Sunday in a crash with a semi tractor-trailer in Jefferson County, northeast of Topeka.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol Online Crash Log, Kyler Postma was driving a 2005 Chrysler Sebring southbound on Kansas 4 near mile marker 346 when his vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes, where it ran head-on into a northbound Freightliner.

Postma, a student at Jefferson West High School, died from his injuries.

The driver of the semi, a 39-year-old man from Grantville, Kansas, suffered a minor injury.

Friends of the Postma family have organized a Go Fund Me to help with funeral expenses.
