KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A teenager faces a second-degree murder charge in the shooting death of another teen outside an Overland Park apartment complex.
Joseph Decelles, 18, of Edwardsville, Kansas, is accused in Johnson County Juvenile Court of the January 25 killing of Patrick Miller.
Overland Park police officers found Miller shot in the breezeway of an apartment complex in the 7800 block of Marty Street.
Miller, of Bonner Springs, Kansas, died at a hospital a short time later.
Decelles was charged earlier this year in Johnson County Juvenile Court with theft of a firearm and criminal use of weapons.
The murder charge was filed Monday
Prosecutors want him to stand trial as an adult.
A judge has not ruled on that request.
