KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A 17-year-old Independence man is facing felony robbery charges connected to an incident posted on Snapchat last weekend.

Jackson County Prosecutors charged Alexander Shrader Wednesday with robbery, one day after Shrader turned himself into police after authorities launched a campaign to identify a picture of Shrader.

Shrader was wanted for his part in a social media video where Shrader holds a handgun to the head of a juvenile victim that had previously been struck in the face several times by a friend of Shrader.

The victim was injured and had money stolen from him during the incident.

According to court documents filed Wednesday, Shrader admitted to the assault.

Police say another suspect that struck the victim in the face and the teen that videotaped the assault were interviewed and taken into juvenile custody.
