KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A teenager died in a crash in Lafayette County, Missouri, Wednesday afternoon.
According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 16-year-old girl was riding in a 2003 Jeep with four other teens.
The crash happened on U.S. 24 eastbound at 24th street around 3 p.m.
MSHP said the Jeep failed to yield and pulled into the path of a 2010 Ford.
Both cars overturned and came to a rest on their wheels.
Three of the passengers in the Jeep were ejected. None of them had been wearing seatbelts, according to MSHP.
The 16-year-old boy who had been driving and a 15-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries.
Two of the girls who were ejected, ages 14 and 16, suffered serious injuries.
The third was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver and sole occupant of the Ford, who MSHP said also was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries.
