It wasn’t the birthday present Chris Davis wanted June 25 when thieves stole approximately $100,000 worth of his bands’ equipment.

“I was having a birthday party actually the night before  had some friends over, life was feeling good and the next morning I got a phone call that we had been robbed,” said Davis, owner of Jukeboxx Media and leader of the band, Lost Wax.

The band is known for its medley mashup performances but someone apparently isn't a fan.

According to the Lenexa Police Department, the suspect vehicle is a white Chevrolet Tahoe, which was captured on traffic cameras hauling Davis’ gear-filled trailer from a warehouse at 95th Street and Lackman Road.

Davis estimates 50 to 60 percent of the band's gear was in the trailer.

“Sound systems, microphones, stands, cables, instruments, a keyboard, guitar amp, pedals, drum set pretty much everything you need to run a band," he said.

Luckily, Lost Wax didn’t miss a beat thanks to the outpouring of support from the local music community, which let them borrow equipment for performances this week.

“Every production company almost reached out and said, 'How can we help?'" Davis said. "All the wedding vendors, 'How can we help?' From, 'Let's help find it' to 'What can I get you today to get you through this weekend,' to 'Let me make you some dinner, so I can make it up to you,'” Davis said.

If you have any information on who the truck belongs to or know anything about the whereabouts of the trailer, you are urged to call Lenexa Police at 913-825-8020 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
