KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol was investigating Friday after three people died in two separate crashes.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Deann Phillips, 53, and Olivia Phillips, 14, were killed after Deann Phillips lost control of her Mercury Saturn and crashed into another vehicle.
The second crash occurred near U.S. 24 and Highway 139 near Carrollton. One person died in the crash, said Missouri High Patrol Sgt. Bill Lowe said.
In both crashes, the Highway Patrol is investigating if weather was a factor.
