Three KCK Firefighters injured in early morning blaze

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Three Firefighters were injured when the fell through the floor working a house fire on north 7th street Sunday morning.

Crews were called to 1604 N. 7th street just before 3:00 a.m., and began fighting the fire from the rear and sides of the two-story home.

The fire was reported under control, and while hitting hot spots the 2nd story floor collapsed, and four firefighters fell to the first floor.

Three firefighters were injured on scene, and two were transported to an area hospital. One other firefighter was transported to a hospital after returning to the station.

The extent of their injuries has not been released.

The fire caused an estimated $35,000.00 damage to the home and $5,000.00 to contents.

The cause is under investigation.
