KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police in Kansas City, Missouri are investigating after two people died in a crash Thursday morning.

Just after 7:30 a.m., police received a call of a crash on Raytown Road at Interstate 470 in southeast Kansas City.

The initial investigation indicates a Chrysler Pacifica was northbound on Raytown Road when it crossed the center line and struck head-on a transport van carrying a driver and two disabled adults.

The driver of the Chrysler was taken to an area hospital where she died. An adult female passenger in the transport van was also pronounced dead at the hospital.

KCPD released the names of the two victims Friday.

Misty White, 39, of Kansas City, Missouri, drove the Chrysler Pacifica that crossed the center line and struck a van.

Jacquelin Peters, 72, a passenger in the Ford transport van, also was killed.

The driver of the transport van was critically injured, as was a wheelchair-bound passenger in the transport van.

KCPD said around 10 a.m. that I-470 is closed in both directions at Raytown Road as police investigate.
