KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A West Peculiar firefighter died Sunday afternoon battling a house fire.
Missouri Highway Patrol confirmed the death of the firefighter, who has not yet been identified.
Officials said the blaze at a home on Deer Run Road began in the laundry room. The floor gave way and the firefighter fell into the basement. The crewmember was taken to an area hospital and later died.
Also today, Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas City, Kansas, police are investigating separate homicides, and seven people were displaced due to a house fire.
