UPDATE 3/20/2017 8:00 P.M.: The Platte County Sheriff's Office say Arrabelle Wagner and Elijah Wagner are the three-year-old twins who died Monday morning in a pond near Ridgely, Missouri.
ORIGINAL STORY 3/20/2017:
Two 3-year-olds are dead after being found in a private pond near Ridgely, Missouri.
The 911 call from the children’s father came in at 10:14 a.m. Monday.
Before medics arrived, the little girl was found and CPR was performed on her. Then, the girl’s twin brother was found in the pond. He was pronounced dead on scene. His sister was transported to an area hospital but died hours later.
The Platte County Sheriff’s Office said the father called 911 after waking up and not finding his kids. The family was living with the father’s grandparents at the time, but it is unclear if anyone else was home.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the drowning as an accident and could not provide how long the children were in the pond or how they ended up there.
