KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A toddler is in serious condition after being hit by a car Saturday night in Raytown.
The accident happened at 8:13 p.m. in the parking lot of the El Dorado Apartments at 8911 E. 67th St.
Police say Dezekiel Thornton, 2, had been taken out of a car and managed to get behind another car in the parking lot.
The driver, a 39 year old man from Warsaw, Mo. backed up and hit Thornton.
Police say Thornton suffered serious injuries, but was conscious when taken to a hospital.
The driver stayed at the scene.
The Missouri Highway Patrol will investigate the accident.
