KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A local business that specializes in cutting down trees wants to make sure families have a Christmas tree standing tall in their homes this year.
Dooley Brothers Tree has set itself an ambitious timeline for the drive.
By the end of the week, Anthony Dooley said they hope to have a list of people for whom to buy Christmas trees. With luck, the trees will be purchased and delivered by Friday.
Dooley said the idea is to relieve some of the stress holidays can bring.
"We know that Christmas can be a tough time for some people," Dooley said. "So we're trying to take some of that burden off and provide some families with a free Christmas tree so they can focus more on giving presents to their kids."
Dooley said he welcomes donations in cash or discounts on trees for the project.
"If we can get somebody that can help us out on getting some trees affordable, that way we can help more people and buy more trees,” Dooley said.
If you know a family in need, Dooley Brothers Tree asks that you contact them through their Facebook page, or call their office at 816-517-9971.
