KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Three brothers came up with a plan to help first responders during the coronavirus pandemic.

The three brothers, Matthew, Jonathan and Benjamin, wanted to help first responders after they helped to save their grandfather from COVID-19.

They decided to raise money for the YMCA of Greater Kansas City because the organization is providing emergency child care for first responders.

The brothers’ plan included selling bouquets of peonies from their backyard, an effort that raised $1,200.

“It’s quite a treat to be able to see children inspired and actually go out and raise money in order to give back to something that’s so close and dear to them,” YMCA of Greater Kansas City CEO John Mikos said. “It’s very heartwarming.”
