KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Lexington police are looking for two men in connection with the theft of a vehicle with an assault rifle and other firearms inside.

Around 7:30 a.m. Monday, Lexington officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 600 block of North 18th Street. The owner told police his 2006 Lincoln Navigator SUV was taken from his driveway, police spokesman Sgt. Troy Sims said in a news release.

The owner said his billfold, tools, hunting equipment and cash were in the vehicle, along with two handguns and an AR-15 assault rifle.

Lexington police determined the victim’s credit card was used at a Walmart on Missouri Route 350 in Raytown.

Police on Tuesday released two photos of the men, whom police called “suspects” and "persons of interest for the crime." One of the photos showed the men inside a Chevrolet Malibu with blacked-out rims.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lexington Police Department at 660-259-6321.
