KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The family of a Missouri sheriff who died in the line of duty earlier this year will no longer have to make mortgage payments.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation announced on Sunday that it paid the remaining amount in full for DeKalb County Sheriff Andy Clark’s home.

Clark, a 22-year law enforcement veteran, was killed in June due to a traffic crash.

He left behind a wife, Jodi; and four children.

“Andy and I planned to raise our children here, enjoy our grandchildren and spend our golden years right here in this home that he built for us with his own two hands,” Jodi said in a news release. “Now, with the help of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, I don’t have to sell it or worry about anyone taking it away from us. I can continue to raise our children here in the only home they’ve ever known.”

DeKalb County is roughly 70 miles north of Kansas City, Missouri.
