KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two people died Saturday in a one-vehicle crash just north of Paola.
An 18-year-old woman woman was driving a 2008 Chevrolet HHR shortly after 4:30 p.m. westbound on 287th Street at Lake Miola Drive.
The vehicle driven by Kelsey Lester veered off the left side of the road and struck a bridge pillar.
Jocelyn Razo, 17, of Paola and Brandon Guilfoyle-Pace, 22, of Greeley, Kansas, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and a third passenger in the vehicle were taken to an area hospital. Both are in critical condition.
The Miami County Sheriff’s Office and Johnson County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the crash.
