Two people are dead and two others were injured after a car ran off an overpass on I-435 late Saturday night.
Police say a red Chevrolet Camaro was traveling northbound on I-435 at around 11:30 p.m. when the driver apparently lost control, ran off the overpass and crashed onto Gregory Boulevard underneath the highway.
Authorities said Calleb Lugano, 22, of Overland Park, Kansas, and Tuiemanu Ripley, 21, of Warrensburg, Missouri, both died at the scene. Lugano was identified as the driver and Ripley was a rear seat passenger.
Police said a 23-year-old passenger remains in critical condition at an area hospital. A 22-year-old passenger is in stable condition at an area hospital.
According to the University of Central Missouri President Chuck Ambrose, the two people that were killed were UCM students. It's unclear if the injured passengers were students at the university as well.
