KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two people were ejected from their motorcycle and killed after hitting a deer on Interstate 35 north of 167th Street on Saturday.

The crash was reported about 9:25 p.m. Saturday night.

Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers said Jason M. Huen, 37, was traveling northbound on I-35 on a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle when a deer ran across the road in front of him. He hit the deer, then the guardrail.

Huen and his passenger, Julie M. Huen, 27, both of Gardner, were killed in the crash. Both were wearing helmets and eye protection.

A second motorcyclist, Kevin Watkins, 22, of Florissant, Missouri, was driving behind and hit debris from the deer. He suffered minor injuries.
