The University of Missouri says the search firm that helped the system find a new president also will lead the search for a permanent chancellor for the Columbia campus.

University officials announced in a news release Monday that the firm of Isaacson, Miller, will help with the chancellor search. The firm helped the Missouri system hire Mun Choi as its next president. He starts March 1.

Hank Foley, interim chancellor of the Columbia campus since November 2015, issued a statement Monday saying he would like to be permanent chancellor, although he understands that a national search is necessary.

Foley replaced former chancellor R. Bowen Loftin, who resigned last November after student protests amid racial tension on the Columbia campus.

Choi replaces Tim Wolfe, who resigned as president after the protests.
