KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police in Independence are investigating a possible shots-fired car that led to a vehicle driving into a house.
Officers with the Independence Police Department received the call around 9:30 p.m. and responded to the area of 25th Street and Vermont Avenue, where a vehicle hit a utlity pole and crashed into the concrete steps leading to a residence in the area.
There were no reported injuries and police were still investigating the incident.
A witness who lives near the scene said she heard gunshots and then the crash, which knocked out power in the area for a few hours. She also saw a person running from the scene.
