KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A news conference Tuesday to garner public support for a property tax increase toward library improvements will have a backdrop to prove the point for increased funding.

A portion of the Waldo Branch of the Kansas City Public Library at 201 E. 75th St. was damaged after recent rains. Library employees are cleaning up the damage in the children’s books area of the library.

Organizers of the property tax increase said the funding would go toward infrastructure improvements at area libraries.
