KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Although the holiday season hasn't hit just yet, several companies are already looking to fill positions for their busiest time of the year.
Places such as Target are one of many that have the seasonal hiring signs online and in stores.
Target is offering 120,000 jobs this season — a 20 percent increase from last year.
Other companies hiring for the season include USPS, Kohl's, FedEx, Michaels, JCPenney and Macy's.
Alliance Workforce Coordinator Theus Buckner said it's been a busy season already.
"Business has been picking up," Buckner said. "We actually have, at this current moment, more jobs than people ready and available to go, so the challenge has been going through our hiring process and qualifying those candidates."
Alliance Workforce said there are more jobs than people because of certain hiring requirements with background checks, and also transportation and availability on bus lines.
