UPDATE: Heidi Zakeri was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest, and leaving the scene of an accident.
A woman was taken into custody after a police chase that ended in Westport on Saturday.
At around 4:25 p.m. officers got a call about a suspicious car and occupant involving a female intoxicated driver. They found Heidi Zakeri, 25, in the car at 47th and Pennsylvania and attempted to contact her. But officers said she refused to roll down her window and put the car in reverse toward the patrol car.
Officers broke her window and tried to take her into custody because a small child was in the car and they said they feared for the child’s safety.
A witness at the scene, Kendal Pickett, posted a video of the incident on Twitter:

Zakeri fled the scene at speeds of 35mph, but stopped at 39th and Southwest Trafficway. Officers took her into custody and she was transported to a local hospital due to her apparent level of intoxication.
The child was okay and there were no other injuries.
