KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The WaterFire KC event scheduled for this weekend has been canceled due to weather, organizers announced Friday.
“With the anticipated accumulation of rainfall over the next 24 hours, the safety of the performers, boat operators and public has to be our number one priority,” organizers said on Facebook.
WaterFire KC will not be rescheduled this year. It will return in 2019, according to the Facebook post.
The annual event features bonfires, live music and performance art along Brush Creek on the Country Club Plaza.
