KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Wayside Waifs rescued 31 dogs and puppies who were being transferred from Oklahoma to Illinois Saturday morning.
The dogs' trip was stopped due to extreme weather conditions while enroute to the destination, according to the pet adoption organization.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals contacted Wayside Waifs asking if the animals could be brought to the shelter.
Wayside Waifs will evaluate the dogs before putting them up for adoption.
