KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Three brothers came up with a way to help first responders during the coronavirus pandemic.

The So brothers, Matthew (9 years old), Jonathan (7) and Benjamin (5), wanted to help after first responders saved the life of their grandfather, 78-year old Abraham. Abraham was diagnosed with COVID-19 on April 2. He spent a week on a ventilator and is back home now, recovering well.

The boys decided to raise money for the YMCA of Greater Kansas City because they are providing emergency child care for first responders. The brothers sold bouquets of peonies from their backyard to friends, teachers and the community.

This week, they delivered over 15 bouquets and raised over $1,000.

They plan to deliver the check to the YMCA this week.
