KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Heavy rain overnight caused some roads to flood and led to several car crashes across Kansas City.

The fire department responded to Truman Road, near Indiana Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. Monday after two cars got stuck in high water underneath a bridge.

A fire truck on its way to that incident stalled in high water closer to 13th Street and Jackson Avenue.

No one was hurt in either incident.

Rain continued off and on throughout the early morning hours, ensuring roads will be wet for the Monday morning work commute.

A tree fell across 55th Street between State Line Road and Ward Parkway completely blocking the roadway.

Emergency officials expected water from Indian Creek to crest along 103rd Street near Wornall Road.

41 Action News meteorologist Lindsey Anderson says rain will continue through the morning, with storms likely Monday night and continuing into Tuesday.
