LeAnna Holdgraf has sold everything vintage in Kansas City's West Bottoms for years.

But this weekend she'll sell some of her things a little differently in the West Bottoms' first ever roaming auction.

"It's a traveling auction, and it's going to be a lot of fun for the people who come down here," said Holdgraf.

An auctioneer will go from store to store all day Saturday, selling many things at a discounted price.

Organizers hope it will help take the West Bottoms First Friday weekend to the next level.

"So it's going to be kind of unique because normally when you go to an auction you're in one place and you kind of mill about the merchandise," Amber Arnett-Bequeaith, the West Bottoms Business District Vice President.  "We're going to be milling about the entire West Bottoms doing this auction inside individual stores."

With the West Bottoms indoor vintage market now the largest in the United States, it's attracting other business owners from around the region, who come here to find things for their stores.

The auction is directed at them.

"We're really inviting a lot of the people within the vintage industry and antiques that own stores to come in and really take advantage of these amazing prices that we're going to have going off at auction," said Arnett-Bequeaith.

The West Bottoms First Friday runs Friday, Sept. 2 through Sunday, Sept. 4, but the live auction roams from store to store only on Saturday.
