KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Westport’s Bill Nigro says the city’s restaurants and businesses are taking it on the chin thanks to many things, including the internet.
But Nigro isn’t going to let the internet win.
On Wednesday, Nigro plans to make a presentation to the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority Board about an idea he’s calling “KC to the Maxx.”
The idea is for a 10-stop entertainment route that would run on Friday and Saturday nights using RideKC buses.
The service would cost $5 to ride all night or $3 to ride one-way.
Stops would include Zona Rosa, City Market, Power and Light, Martini Corner, Westport, the Plaza, Brookside, Waldo, Marco Polo Center and the Rosana Square Shopping Center.
The service would include an app offering additional information about bus schedules and neighborhood amenities.
Partners listed in the presentation include Mayor pro tem Scott Wager, Jasper Mirabile of Jasper’s Italian Restaurant, Crawl for Cancer’s Samantha Green, Nigro and Howard Carney.
A website has been launched to help promote the project.
