KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A strong winter storm with blizzard like conditions is blowing into the metro area Sunday with 4'-10" of snow expected in the city.
Strong winds and falling temperatures are ushering in the strongest winter storm to hit the area in years.
The National Weather Service issued a Blizzard warning late Saturday night.
41 Action News meteorologist Jeff Penner says a short rain or ice event will begin the winter weather in the city limits from 10:00-12:00.
The afternoon promises lots of blowing snow and falling temperatures.
Early estimates predict 4'-10" of snow in the city, much more farther north.
Many area road crews began pre-treating roadways Saturday, and plows are expected to hit the streets in full force Sunday afternoon.
