Woman found shot to death in KCK is sister of Pamela Butler, girl kidnapped and killed in 1999

Kansas City, Kansas police are investigating the city's latest homicide.

Officers were called to 9th and Kansas around 11 p.m. Wednesday for shots fired.

They found a woman in her 30s who was shot to death in a car. The victim was later identified as Casey Eaton, 34, of Kansas City, Kansas. 

Eaton is the older sister of Pamela Butler, who was kidnapped from her Armourdale neighborhood and murdered in 1999. Butler was only 10 years old.

Eaton, who was 16 at the time, witnessed the kidnapping.

Keith Nelson was convicted of killing Butler and is still sitting on death row.

Cherri West, the girls' mother, now has to go through the pain of burying a second daughter. 

KCK detectives are still trying to figure out what led up to this shooting.
