KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 22-year-old woman is dead and three minors are injured after a crash in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Monday night.
It happened at 8:55 p.m. on Silvey Road, just south of Northeast 174th Street.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 1999 Grand Jeep Cherokee carrying three passengers and a driver crossed the center line and traveled off the left side of the road.
As it returned to the road, it overturned.
The driver, identified as Monica Watson of Excelsior Springs, was pronounced dead at the scene.
She was not wearing a seatbelt, the highway patrol said.
A 16-year-old girl, also not wearing a seatbelt, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital.
Two other minors, 12 and 4, had minor injuries and were taken to hospitals as well. They were both wearing safety devices, according to investigators.
