KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 23-year-old Lawson, Missouri, woman died early Thursday in a wreck in rural Clay County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report identified the victim as Joy Payne.
Payne was driving a 2009 Pontiac on Salem Road near NE166th Street when she lost control just after 3 a.m.
Her car became airborne, struck a ditch and then overturned. Payne was pronounced dead on the scene.
Troopers said Payne was not wearing a seatbelt.
