KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A woman was shot several times in a purse-jacking early Tuesday morning in Grandview, Missouri.
Police responded to the shooting scene at 15th Street and Jones Avenue around 4 a.m. The woman was there checking on her mother, who lived nearby.
Police learned the injured woman was approached by four men who tried to take her purse.
In a scuffle, the 62-year-old woman was shot several times.
Her sister arrived later and found her.
She is in stable condition at a local hospital. The men left in a dark-colored car.
