A 22-year-old woman was struck and killed by an off-road vehicle shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday night in Ray County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says an Arctic Cat Wildcat 1000, a Utility Task Vehicle (UTV), was northbound on Route BB, just one tenth of a mile north of Route D, when it hit 22-year-old Megan L. Lamarr of Polo, Mo.

The UTV was driven by Michael D. Childs, also of Polo.

Lamarr was transported to Truman Medical Center via Lifeflight Air Ambulance, where she was pronounced dead a few hours later.

Her death is the 27th fatality reported by the Missouri Highway Patrol this year.
