Wonderscope Children's Museum celebrates grand opening

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Regnier Family Wonderscope Children's Museum opened Friday, to many parents' sighs of relief for an answer to the question “What am I going to do with my kids today?”

The museum celebrated its grand opening at 433 E. Red Bridge Rd. with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Museum officials told 41 Action News the new attraction’s tickets are already sold out through the weekend, but plenty are available for Tuesday.

Wonderscope brings STEAM experience to children ages 10 and under through 10 exhibits and half an acre of year-round outdoor activities.

Exhibits and attractions include:

  • Crossroads of Past and Future
  • Design Lab
  • Creation Station
  • Kansas City Café barbecue restaurant
  • WonderMart grocery store
  • On the Move!
  • Wonder Climber
  • Kid City and Tot Spot
  • WaterWorks
  • NatureScope (outdoor activities)

The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
It does have COVID-19 safety protocols in place.

Guests must reserve tickets prior to their visit and choose either a morning or afternoon session.
