Platte County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Missouri Highway Patrol are investigating a wreck involving a tractor trailer that has traffic backed up in the area.
Officials say the wreck happened around 9:30 a.m. when tractor trailer lost control and veered off into a wooded area and collided with trees.
The driver, identified as 46-year-old man from Everest, Kansas was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Deputies say the road should reopen before evening rush.
