KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Wyandotte County sheriff's deputy was struck by a car Tuesday night.

Officials said the deputy was hit while conducting a traffic stop around 9:15 p.m. on westbound Interstate 70 at 57th Street in Kansas City, Kansas.

The deputy had just pulled over a man on the ramp.

The man's wife was following in a truck pulling a trailer.

The deputy told the woman to pull ahead. As she did, we're told the trailer hit the deputy in the leg and he fell into a ditch.
