The way you entertain or work on your flight could soon be changing. Homeland Security is considering expanding a ban on laptops as a carry-on option during international flights
Right now the ban is in place in ten airports across eight different countries.
The Department of Homeland Security wants to expand the ban to include selected airports in Europe do to growing concern over terrorism.
“I am all about anything that we can do to make our flights safer, so I can see both sides. I can see why its warranted, but I can see why people might be upset about it,” said Amber Carucci from Kansas City.
Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly is meeting with lawmakers in Washington D.C. Thursday to discuss expanding the ban. Airline officials are also expected at the meeting. No decision is expected to be made during the meeting.
Some groups have already come out to oppose the new ban, they worry lithium based batteries could explode in the cargo hold.
