The Kansas Highway Patrol says one person died after a semi left the roadway and caught fire Friday morning near the Miami County and Franklin County line.
The semi was traveling in the area of K-68 Highway and K-33 Highway just south of Wesllville when it left the roadway and caught fire.
The victim, 44-year-old Christopher Cole, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Kansas Highway Patrol troopers on the scene say the highway will remain closed the remainder of the day.
