KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas gubernatorial candidate Kris Kobach hasn’t been afraid to make his campaign about guns.

A fundraiser planned for next Monday might give his critics more ammunition.

In an e-mail to supporters, attendees are invited to a dinner and shooting with Kobach at the Powder Creek Shooting Park in Lenexa.

For a suggested donation of $200, the event will feature two kinds of clay target shooting for shotguns. Targets are included in the event, as are 12-gauge and 20-gauge shotgun shells.

Kobach is locked in a tight battle with Democrat Laura Kelly and independent candidate Greg Orman.
