41 Action News team honored by KCK police for helping rescue 3-year-old

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Kansas police honored three members of the 41 Action News team for their role in helping rescue a kidnapped three-year-old girl.

41 Action News Assignment Editor Steve Kaut, SkyTracker pilot Captain Gregg Bourdon and photographer James Moore are credited with helping officers discover the girl's location.

In July, a vehicle with a sleeping child inside was stolen from a KCK gas station. Bourdon and Moore were in Skytracker when the spotted the vehicle abandoned in Leavenworth County. They then called Kaut at the assignment desk, who notified authorities.

Video captured the girl running into the arms of the first officer to arrive. She was not harmed.
