Curtis Ayers, man charged in KCK detective's death, in court on Wednesday

The man charged with killing Kansas City, Kansas, police detective Brad Lancaster was in court on Wednesday.

Curtis Ayers of Toganoxie is charged with capital murder in the May shooting death of Lancaster. The shooting happened near the Kansas Speedway.

On Wednesday, the prosecution brought in amended information, and Ayers accepted the amended information and charges.

A preliminary hearing has been set for November 21. The judge expects the hearing to continue for two to three days. 

A judge previously set Ayers' bond at $10 million.
