Police have ended a standoff with a subject in a house in Overland Park on Friday.

Authorities said they went to serve an arrest warrant a house in the 8400 block of West 90th Terrace in Overland Park. Nobody answered, but when officers contacted an associate to the wanted subject, the associate confirmed the subject was inside the house.

Numerous attempts were made to contact the subject and have him surrender to officers; however the subject refused to exit the house, according to police. A SWAT team was called in to assist police.

The standoff lasted several hours but ended at 1 p.m. when officers entered the house and the suspect surrendered without incident.

The suspect was arrested for his warrant and transported to the Johnson County Adult Detention Center in Olathe, Kan., according to authorities.
